I agree with you, David: It's good to see some activity on this list. I discovered and signed on to this list just a couple of weeks ago. I was beginning to think I'd signed up for a list that (in comparison to some other lists to which I subscribe) was as dead and buried as the Morse Code exam!

I'm going to grab that MILL font; thanks for offering the link.

The older I got, the more difficult it was for me to legibly print copy. I always am nervous when taking a test, even though I know the stuff stone cold. I don't recall which test it was I was taking at the time -- it must've been 40 years ago at least -- I'd copied the entire run without error, but my hand was shaking so badly that the resultant copy looked like that of an 80-year-old with palsy! The examiner had a tough time reading my scribbling. Had I been able to type the copy, it would've been a breeze -- for me and the examiner! :-)

one of the best.

I tend to use notepad+ for many things as it is very lightweight (tiny
memory drain), notepad (the stock microsoft one) is a scond choice.

Ken, you and the others on the list are welcome to use my
Telegrapher's MILL font for your personal use.

30 wpm writing is quite a speed! When I took my commercial 25 wpm exam,
I seriously hunted for the fastest pen - it actually made a difference -
at that time I found the Write Bros. ballpoint the fastest, now I think
one of the Uniball Gell RT pens would be the fastest,

You can download the Telegrapher's MILL font here:

Look at the top of the page, and you'll see the link - there also is a
link to some 500 kHz recordings - quite a bit of old recordings going
back to 1915 (Charles Apgar, 2MN's recordings).
