I have 2 J-36's
A bunnell sn 1994 order 5001 Phila 43 Date 8-4-42
And a vibroplex sn 567 order 1456 NY 41
The only lionell is a J-38 the box, the Box its in reads File 13946 - Phila - 43 made by the Lionell Corporation New York NY
That's my coolest bargain at 20.00 in NIB condition...

Rich, here are images of the J36 plate and the key with no Order No. or Date:

As you can see in the first image, there is a raised area on the plate
where the order number and date would be. And it has an 833 Broadway
address. How many do you think were produced like this? And what time
frame are we talking about?
