[CW] FCC ELIMINATING MORSE CODE EXAM REQUIREMENTS

No problem Bill. I do not particularly blame the ARRL for this. I
consider it to primarily be a reflection of our society as a whole
softening-down, dumbing-down, and just basically lazying-down
overall. Our society in general subscribes to: if Instant
Gratification is blocked by the rules, change them. If blocked by the
work required, just reduce or remove it. Not to be a doom-and-gloom
prophet, but we're bringing it on ourselves.

Enough of this-by me, anyway.

For myself, I will continue to use CW as long as it is remotely
possible. If I eventually have to fire up the QRO to be able to
communicate, I'll do it, but COMMUNICATE BY CW I ***will*** do. And
I'll tell you this: I guarantee I will manage to communicate whether
or not a voice station walks all over me and my QSO-partner. One
thing you can say for CW is that, when combined with a good
communications receiver and a better-than-average DSP audio filter,
we will win every time if forced into a head-to-head situation. I
will never intentionally interfere with anyone-but if I was there
first, I'll be very much inclined to stay on a frequency I occupied
first. We'll all be getting better at copying through QRM.

And by the way, next to go will be the exclusive sub-bands. Wait and see.
