I've done it before Michael. I used an AEA MBA-RC. Some of those guys 
are amazing. I could sometimes tell who was just plain FAST vs who 
was using a keyboard by the quality of the printout. When it was 
tuned just right; when conditions were just right; and when you 
through in some luck, you could sometimes get a pretty good readout.

The interesting-not all that useful, but REALLY interesting-thing 
about the MBA-RC is that it is anything IN and anything OUT. So 
theoretically you could send RTTY or even ASCII using a paddle. And 
vice-versa of course. With settable output speeds.

Not the kind of fun 'ordinary' CW is, but lots of fun to fool around 
with. A VERY nice little box. Still have 2 of 'em I'm hanging on to forever.
