[CW] nonIambic keyer option

I believe on the Brasspounders (Yahoogroups) list there was a discussion of
some keyers that had "dash override" mode: meaning if you pressed both
keys, the dashes would come out.

I think they're the keyers from Idiom Press.

In any event, you can't have a non-iambic keyer without some sort of
override: what's the keyer to do when both levers are pressed? (1) stop
sending! (2) send dots! or (3) send dashes.

The old Eico (of Long Island in the 1960-70s) made one of the first
transistorized keyers, it sent dots and dashes, but when both keys were used
it sent dashes.

I like that mode.

I am a big fan of Curtis Mode A - but the Idiom Press people say they have
an even better system - their default system. I'd be interested in trying
it. They allow selection of perhaps a dozen types of keying "standards".

An email to the maker, or to www.morsex.com - one of their distributors -
would answer your question much better.

Subject: [CW] nonIambic keyer option

I own both a Kent dual paddle and a Kent single paddle. I like the dual
paddle
slightly better. Hoever, I don't use iambic mode! Occasionally I
inadvertently squeeze the paddles and make an error.

And now the question: Does anyone know of a keyer that has a nonIambic
option?
I have read extensive discussions of single vs. dual paddle, and iambic vs.
non-iambic. But I have not seen any discussion of keyers that have a
non-Iambic option. A non-iambic mode keyer (as opposed to paddles) would
make
life simpler!
