That depends on how bad the fading is!!

I can copy 36 wpm.  A lot of hams can.

I was in a CW copying contest once at the Cedars of Lebanon 
Hamfest
in Tennessee. The contest winner copied 57 wpm successfully. 
I dropped out after about 42 wpm.

There was at least one other individual who beat me...
