You mean like Dan Tayloe, who's introducing his 
mixer design to the amateur community through the
Norcal 2030 (a CW rig)?

And Wayne Burdick, who cultivated his design skills
developing little CW rigs like the SST and Norcal 40?

I suspect that if they hadn't been CW ops, they might
not have gotten started building and designing.

Good examples of why I have an uneasy feeling about
the direction of this change!
