[CW] Daylight shifting time vs. Darkness shifting time

The comparison of darkness shifting to the shifting of electrons and holes
was quite a hit in our science department. I would not be surprised if this
did not appear in an academic paper, or maybe a semi academic paper.

Who's developed that analogy? We certainy would want to give approriate
credit.
