[CW] Super PowerTubes

Mort Brewer W6JU now SK, who had worked for over 60 years with RCA and 
NBC, working on KFI's (50 kW clear channel 640 kHz) TX and KNBC (TV in 
LA) TX on Mount Wilson, and no doubt a lot of other high powered 
broadcast transmitters, told me that in Hungary they were experimenting 
with "Super Power" MW BC operating in the hundreds of KW and that the 
tubes they used had vacuum pumps connected to them and working while the 
transmitter was in service. He did not say whether it was because they 
had leaky seals or if the elements inside the tube were evaporating.
