John,
I sure am glad you forwarded your thoughts on this subject because from day
one when all of the protestations about CW began, I reflected on my early
days and the "personal challenge" of learning to send better and faster.
That challenge is with me today, even after 50 years....I try to operate
according to accepted standards and I always try to send as near perfect
code as I can...I guess it's a pride thing.
Code really came easy to me I guess, because very early in my novice days, I
got several compliments from a few OLD TIMERS, bragging on my CW! Well, of
course that inspired me even more....
I just wish the "I just can't get it" group would make a personal challenge
and really give it a fair shake! Of course, on this reflector, we are in
essence "preaching to the choir, I think".
I still love to use my old bug, sideswiper and the keyer as well as an old
spark straight key....all are at my operating position "at the ready". HI
73 CW forever
Tony, W4FOA
