I RECEIVED AN ANSWER CONCERNING THE RUMORED ACTIVATION OF USCG STATION AND
THE OLD RCA STATION IN SAN FRANCISCO FROM RICHARD DILLMAN.

It was actually the Coast Guard station NMC that said they would be
on the air on CW on MF and HF to commemorate the retirement of the
radioman rank and sparks insignia.  We planned to activate KPH to
give listeners a chance to hear two US coast stations on the air.
But the effort seemed to peter out on the NMC side and we have never
received any acknowledgement that station will be on the air
tomorrow.  So we did not proceed with our plans for KPH.  It's really
too bad as this would have been an outstanding event.
