[CW] The CW Issue

Absolutely agree with John, W3ULS, on the primacy of
lobbying to retain protected CW (and digital) sub-bands for
all Amateur Radio allocations. SSB interference can
severely impact CW and digital transmission - much, much more
than the reverse - and this is the bottom line concern that
we all must address.

Canadian hams have regulatory approval to use any band
frequencies for any modes, but generally respect the ARRL
and/or RAC band plan recommendations. (I personally don't
agree with much current Canadian usage of 40M below 7100
Khz, but that is another issue). However, will a flood of
new operators with no familiarity or exposure to CW show any
respect for narrow band modes if sub-band protection is
eliminated?
