And to be totally, brutally honest, this issue isn't really that important 
in the light of the FCC's getting bed with the power companies to promote 
BPL.  That WOULD be a show stopper - and then NO modes would be usable.

Unless there were a better organization with a better, more potent voice 
than the ARRL, it'd be unnecessarily harmful to the overall fight to 
quit.
