I'm afraid to profess that the solution against this widespread skidding =
"problem" bugs have created for so many operators is simply to store the =
bugs in a shelf (you may use a good mirrored and illuminated display if =
you want) and get on the air with good iambic paddles. Once you get =
accustomed to that effortless, smooth, and gentle touch operation which =
only the good iambics allow without driving their feet beneath their =
base to any deviation from initial position, you will then forget about =
this widespread misery, so tied to "bugs" and their "feet", that has =
consumed scores of messages and suggestions galore here in this =
reflector. As much as I love bugs, nobody can really deny they are just =
too "clinkety, clankety" and that they are more difficult to tame =
against their dash-stroke-induced tendency to slip accross your desk. =
Let us not forget, guys, that we're in the twenty first century =
already! Tools of Morse Code transmission that were designed at the =
inception of the last century must yield to instruments more closely =
aligned to these times of GPS/satellite/moden-driven emotions...
73 Pedro KP3X..
P.S. I know many will receive and digest the above comments in the same =
facetious spirit that inspired them. However, I add this footnote for =
the benefit of those many out there who tend to take humor as a serious =
offense, and who are therefore prone to flood the reflector with =
unwarranted diatribes!
