[CW] Bug feet

Don,
It may be cheaper (or easier) to buy new feet for your bug. However, many
years
ago a contract typewriter repairman used to use "Banana Oil" to keep the
typewriter
platens from hardening. It smells just like bananas...I'm sure it has other
uses
and probably difficult to find, but it is an idea anyway. Let us know if
you
have any success in reconditioning the rubber feet...I know I would be
interested
in your solution (no pun intended).

PS: While on the subject of keys...a key collector/seller said he/she uses
"high quality fine polish" and "high quality polishing oil" for metal to
clean and
keep his keys looking new. No further info was forthcoming...anyone know
where such animals are found? Namebrands? Any help? Thanks

Subject: [CW] Bug feet

My 1949 Bug is starting to slide about on the desk.
I see that new feet are available. Is this my only choice, or is there some
way to soften the old ones up some..... They're sort of like rocks now.
