I use an alligator clip on the end of the pendulum rod.  The sleeve that 
normally takes the wire is filled with solder to add weight.  The "teeth" 
are  filed smooth to avoid scratching the finish on the armature.  I 
re-shaped the jaws to fit the pendulum rod perfectly.  I like it better than 
the vibroplex adaptor - it clips on and off instantly, and there is no 
setscrew to gouge up the pendulum.  Besides, I never was sure exactly where 
the vibroplex extender should be attached,  relative to the damping wheel.
