[CW] Bug Adjustment Picture

The dits are the trick with these bugs. I've found that bringing the
pendulum weight as closest as possible to the swinging arm (almost there,
but not quite) and maintaining some distance among the vibrating contacts,
and keeping the shortest possible spacing in the middle screws allows good
dits. Mind you, these semi automatic keys were revolutionary when compared
to the straights they replaced but their dits, while "automatic" due to the
vibration of the central pulsating arm, can never compare with their Iambic
keyer's counterparts. Getting the best "dits" you can is the feat all
original vibro...users wish to conquer. Once you do that, it's magic.

I certainly prefer the Iambic paddles for contest and everyday use. However,
ocassional exercises with a bug bring a sense of music/poetry and hand skill
which adds tons of subjective nuances and pleasure to the morse code
operating experience.

When one experiences CW with a bug and compares the exercise with straight
key operation, it's evident how the semi-automatic bugs truly revolutionized
the morse code straight key experience and came to dominate and conquer the
morse code operation for many decades.

Adjusting the Vibroplex original bugs for a pleasant rhythm is as an art as
putting those keys to good use on the air...ahhh. Long live CW...
