Here is a copy of the navy wireless code for those of you who asked
for it. This was taken from a wall poster c. 1910 tho is was probably
created even earlier. It shows the Am. and Continental codes
juxtaposed.
One early Navy annual report states it was very hard to find and train
radio operators who knew three codes. For many years the requirements
for RadioMan First Class was equal proficiency in both American and
Continental codes. Even tho American Morse was dropped for ships, shore
stations and DF stations used it extensively and the Navy had their own
landline network. The requirement for Am. Morse was dropped in 1938 I
think.
