  This does not appear to be a complete listing, but it is the best I

  The Phillips code was invented about 1880 by Walter Phillips.  It was
not used by most landline telegraph or radio telegraphers.  It was
nearly exclusively by press telegraphers.  For example, the sending
operator send SCOTUS and the receiving operator wrote down Supreme Court
of the United States.   It improved the throughput remarkably.  I could
site other examples, but you can look at the list.
  The were three things that improved the thruput of telegraphers, the
typewriter, the bug, and the Phillips code.
