[CW] CW testers??

A few years ago I was having a slow-code QSO on one of the Novice =
sub-bands with a fellow who said he was practicing his code for a =
license upgrade.  In an attempt to get a rag chew going, I asked him =
what he liked best about ham radio.  There was a long pause ... so long =
that I thought I lost him.  Finally he replied: IT SURE ISNT CW.  And =
that was his last transmission.  He never signed off.  He never returned =
my calls.  Dead silence.
