I wonder if I'm the only one who gets almost homicidal when sending a "CQ"
on the higher DX bands (12/10m) and have someone send their call once
without actually calling/using mine and then going silent. I run my memory
keyer quite frequently and do some log entries while I call, so I often have
to ask QRZ? Its almost as though they are making a point of saying you cant
copy CW by only sending their call once etc. Most of the time I copy just
fine but am reluctant to respond without hearing my call because there may
be a split frequency DX stn operating a couple of KHZ away. I have had that
frustrating experience of asking QRL, hearing nothing, and then calling only
to have someone ignore my reply to their callsign. I qsy a bit and find
another station down 2khz instructing his contacts to "up two". It doesn't
happen all the time but often enough to be annoying. Oh well, at least
they're using the mode........!!
