Don, the Extra written I took in September 1954 required numerous vector
calculations. Fortunately, I had brought my K&E Log Log Duplex Vector slide
rule along or I would not have been able to finish the test. I recall
questions that involved a knowledge and proficiency in algebra, trig, and,
of course, vector operations on complex numbers which usually falls
somewhere into the content of most elementary calculus courses.
Times have changed!
