I frequently hear CB lingo such as "personal", "ratchetjaw", and use of the
word "there" to end every sentence in SSB conversations. I have never heard
the term "working conditions" used by US hams. I assume it means "rig,
antenna, etc".
I have heard that term used by French speaking hams ever since I was first
licensed in 1959. The French expression is "les conditions de travail". If
the term you are referring to has the same meaning as I describe, I suspect
it came from phone DX'ers, not CB'ers.
Another term I have been hearing in recent years on CW is "op" meaning "my
name is". French speaking phone operators say "le nom de l'oprateur
est..." and I suspect this has carried over in abbrieviated form to CW.
It's easier and quicker to send than to spell out "name hr is".
