Wind Advisory
Statement as of 3:08 PM PST on November 18, 2010

...Wind Advisory now in effect until 4 PM PST Friday...

The Wind Advisory is now in effect until 4 PM PST Friday.

* Timing: gusty southwest winds will continue through Friday
   afternoon. Gusts on valley floors may decrease below 35 mph
   tonight...but will increase again Friday.

* Winds: southwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. Wind
   prone areas may gust up to 65 mph in Mono County.

* Sierra ridge gusts up to 100 mph will continue tonight and
   Friday.

* Impacts: strong Crosswinds will cause difficult travel conditions
   along Highway 395.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Motorists...especially in high profile vehicles...should use
caution and remain alert for sudden gusts or cross winds.  Check
our website at weather.Gov/Reno or listen to NOAA Weather Radio
for updates on this situation.
