Ham Radio Operators Needed
The High Sierra Fly Casters will be hosting three Fly Fishing Retreats for
persons who have Cancer, or are recovering from Cancer.
These retreats are being held at the Pleasant Valley Fly Fishing Preserve
which is located just west of Markleeville, California.
In this area cell phones are useless. So if we were to have an medical
emergency at one of these retreats, we would need to get help to the area.
We will have a Ham Radio Station set up at the preserve at each of the
following events
Reel Kids July 11th and 12th ( Children recovering from Cancer )
Reel Recovery July 22nd and 23rd ( Men recovering from Cancer )
Reel Escape August 15th ( Ladies recovering from Cancer )
What we need are Ham Radio Operators to monitor the 147.33 frequency during
these retreats, so if a call comes from the retreat
for help, we can respond to the emergency.
The person monitoring the frequency does not have to sit by his radio,
but has to have a radio with them as they go about during the day.
Everybody who is willing to help monitor during these retreats will
receive all the information they need to handle an emergency at these
retreats. ( It would be nice to get enough operators, so we could have
everyone work a two to three hour monitoring shifts )
Anyone who is interested in helping with this worth while endeavor,
please call Roger Arthur NV7RA 755-265-2825 or
E Mail artinnv at clearwire.net to let me know when you can help out.
