High Wind Watch
Statement as of 3:28 PM PST on February 28, 2009
...High wind watch in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday
morning...
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a high wind
watch...which is in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday
morning.
* Gusty winds developing by late morning then increasing in the
afternoon and continuing through Monday.
* Winds: southwest winds increasing to 20 to 35 mph with gusts up
to 60 mph by Sunday evening and continuing through Monday. Gusts over
70 mph possible in wind prone areas.
* Impacts:travel may be difficult late Sunday and
Monday...especially on north south roadways such as Highway
395.
Motorists...especially in high profile vehicles...should use
caution and remain alert for sudden gusts or cross winds.
