Statement as of 3:38 PM PDT on April 13, 2009
...Wind Advisory in effect from 8 am to 11 PM PDT Tuesday...
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Wind Advisory...
which is in effect from 8 am to 11 PM PDT Tuesday.
* Winds: west 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph Tuesday
morning shifting to the northwest by late morning.
* Impacts: travel will become difficult...especially on highways
395 along the Sierra front and 88 south of Gardnerville.
Blowing dust from dry desert areas will also create reduced
visibility...especially along Highway 50 east of Carson City.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Motorists...especially in high profile vehicles...should use
caution and remain alert for sudden gusts or cross winds. Check
