High Wind Advisory
304 am PDT sun Apr 13 2008
...High wind watch in effect from Monday morning through Monday
evening...
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a high wind
watch...which is in effect from Monday morning through Monday
evening.
Southwest winds are expected to increase to 25 to 35 mph Monday
morning and continue through the afternoon and early evening.
Gusts of 60 mph or higher are possible especially in wind prone
areas of western Nevada and eastern California. In the higher
elevations of the Sierra...gusts up to 100 mph may occur.
Unsecured outdoor items that could be moved or blown over by strong
winds should be brought indoors before the winds increase on
Monday. Travel will become difficult especially on Highway 395 and
Interstate 80 due to strong cross winds and possible local areas
of blowing dust.
A high wind watch means there is potential for strong damaging
winds to affect the area. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts
at weather.Gov/Reno.
Expires:140000 gmt
