The Nevada Day Parade is taking place on the 27th of October. I am working
with the Board of Directors of the Nevada Day Parade to furnish
communications. If you are interested in volunteering to work the parade, as
a Amateur Radio operator, please contact me.
Purpose: Establish and maintain VHF/UHF communications for the Nevada Day
Parade on the 27th of October in Carson City. This is an Open net. Pass
information to and from parade officials between the different locations on
the parade route.
Equipment: Portable (handheld) 2 meter or 70cm radios. (We will be using
local repeaters that are linked VHF to UHF covering the Carson Valley).
Enough battery's) for the duration. ( a mag mount antenna would improve
signal in some areas of the route)
Most locations are fixed, (announcers, reviewing stands, staging area, etc).
The operator will be seated next to/near the parade official. 2 positions
are mobile - an HT with a mag mount would be great.
That Saturday morning, we will meet for a breakfast sponsored by the parade
committee. We will have a final briefing, and receive our event ID's.
Detailed information will be made available for interested operators.
