High Wind Advisory

...Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening...

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM PST this evening.

South to southwest winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph will
continue this afternoon and evening...mainly in the foothills
and other wind prone areas. Local gusts up to 60 mph are possible
in wind prone areas. Gusts up to 90 mph are expected over the
ridges in the Tahoe basin.

Driving will become difficult for high profile vehicles...
especially on north-south routes such as Highway 395 and
California 89. Use extra caution and remain alert for sudden
gusts or cross winds. In addition...strong wind gusts will also
cause rough chop on Lake Tahoe through this evening. Boats will
be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters through
this evening.
