High Wind Advisory
315 am PST sun Nov 12 2006
...High wind watch now in effect from late tonight through Monday
evening...
The high wind watch is now in effect from late tonight through
Monday evening.
A strong Pacific jet stream will bring gusty southwesterly winds
to the northern Sierra and western Nevada late tonight through
late Monday evening. Winds will increase late tonight and will
continue to strengthen throughout the day Monday. Wind gusts of
50 to 60 mph are possible in western Nevada and eastern California
valleys...with gusts exceeding 80 mph over the highest Sierra
ridges. Now is the time to secure or tie down any items that may
be vulnerable to strong wind gusts.
A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous
high wind event with wind gusts of 58 mph or stronger. Continue
to monitor NOAA Weather Radio...or other media...for later updates
on this situation from the National Weather Service.
Expires:130000 gmt
