Spectrum

To all concerned,
I have been involved in the commercail use of the spectrum in the U.S. since
1962. The referenced article refers to "effecient" use, unfortunately they
do not define "efficient" as they see it. Read between the lines, it means
profitable to those in line to gain by use, even if their use is not
efficient. The best defense amateur radio has to the profiteers is to push
forward with licensing of new amateurs. Your ARRL, local clubs, and
individuals can achieve this goal.

I am for Public Safety, not in the form of an 800 Mhz trunked system for 50
mobiles or coverage of the State of Nevada. Poor use fo existing spectrum
makes a case for not gabbing more spectrum. I believe Amateur Radio needs to
continue with more programs like EMCOM and continued use of CW. When the
last cell site goes down, the fibre cable is cut, Amateur Radio will be our
method of communication.

Was reading through some recent ComputerWorld magazine articles and found
this. Thought all on the reflector might find this interesting. Think we
may need to get people on the air more to prevent this from happening to our
frequencies.
