[CVRC] DCART Meeting Monday 19Jun06

Hi all!

The June DCART meeting will be held tonight, June 19, 2006, at the 
Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center at the Minden/Tahoe airport 
between Minden and Carson City.  The Sierra Front complex is at the 
end of Firebrand Road, off Heybourne Road midway between Johnson Lane 
and Airport Road.  A map can be found at

Our training topic will be based on the following training scenario: 
Something unpleasant has happened. No phones, including cell phones, 
are working. YOU (yes, you!) have been assigned to provide 
communications from a Red Cross shelter. The shelter is somewhere 
you've never been before. Bring to the DCART meeting the radio, 
batteries, antenna etc that would bring to the shelter in this 
scenario. Be prepared to set up and communicate via:

1) 2m repeaters (assuming that whatever took out the cell phones 
didn't also take out the repeaters)
2) 2m simplex on 146.55 if the repeaters are broken too.

3) HF if you're out of simplex range. Assume operation on 3965 KHz 
and/or 7280 KHz SSB.
