volunteers provided some much-needed communications in Louisiana,

professional communication personnel added credibility to the race, and
made it a much safer event.

S.1236. In his words: "I understand the importance of amateur radio

Please be assured that I will remain mindful of this should I have the
opportunity to review these measures."

Nevada section web site and is accessed by clicking on the "Nevada
ARES" button in the bingo board.
September 29, 2005 - Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Consistency
Act (HR 3876) Introduced - This bill, if passed, could make it easier
for radio amateurs living in communities with CC&Rs to erect suitable
antennas. The bill itself is short and sweet: "For purposes of the
Federal Communications Commission's regulation relating to station
antenna structures in the amateur radio services (47 CFR 97.15), any
private land use rules applicable to such structures shall be treated
as a State or local regulation and shall be subject to the same
requirements and limitations as a State or local regulation." If you
haven't already done so, now would be a great time to write your
representatives in the House and Senate and let them know what you
think about this and other pending legislation.

Southern Nye County ARES and Virgin Valley ARC of Mesquite NV are
