High Wind Advisory
254 am PDT Fri Oct 14 2005
...Wind Advisory in effect from 8 PM this evening to 3 am PDT
Saturday...
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Wind Advisory...
which is in effect from 8 PM this evening to 3 am PDT Saturday.
Southwest winds from 30 to 35 mph with stronger gusts will develop
early this evening ahead of an approaching cold front. As the front
passes through the region...local gusts to 50 mph will occur. Even
stronger gusts are possible in wind prone areas along U.S. Highway
395.
Patio furniture and other loose objects should be secured from the
strong winds. Boaters on area lakes should be prepared for rough
waters as winds increase this afternoon and evening.
A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts of 45 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for
high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
