[CVRC] A bike ride

The American Lung Association supports and conducts a fund raising bike ride.  We recognize the Lung Association as a worthy cause.

They put on a three day bike ride.  It begins and ends at Cisco Grove.  Routing is Donner, Tahoe City and Truckee, with lots of twists and turns.

Two nights of tent, trailer or RV camping, with all facilities and food provided by the sponsor, at Donner.

The dates are September 9, 10 and 11.

A wonderful opportunity to get away to the high country at a time when the Valley is really hot.  Serving a worthy cause at the same time.  Who could ask for more?

The beauty of this ride is that three amateur radio operators, while busy, will be able to accomplish all the communications necessary to support a fine undertaking.

Visualize....three good amateur radio friends, with families if desired, can work together in a professional manner and a casual atmosphere to support The Lung Association, testing your radio skills in a mountainous environment, all the while drinking in the beauty of the Sierra Nevada.

Or, the other side of that coin....submit your name as available and work with two other like minded souls to accomplish the same results.  You'll have completed three days and two nights of radio accomplishment and have two new friends.
