[CVRC] About Dick Budd, W7RWB

Hello to all,

After several weeks in the hospital, now Dick is in room 210 of Evergreen 
Gardnerville Health and Rehabilitation Center.  They allow visiting at about any 
time.  

When Phyllis and I were there early this afternoon Dick was sound asleep, not 
having slept well the night before, so I can say little except that he seems 
to have lost some weight.

Dorothy tells me his diagnosis is senile dementia, and it seems most probable 
to me, from its sudden onset, that a small stroke or a medication reaction 
might have triggered it.  The big question it whether it is permanent.  At 
times, Dick's mental state seems to be perfectly normal, and at other times he says 
some very bizarre things.  Hopefully, he will show speedy improvement and 
soon will be back among his Radio Friends.

Evergreen Gardnerville is located behind the Barton Medical Facility just 
south of Gardnerville on Hwy 395.  From Hwy 395 turn easterly on Virginia Ranch 
Road (which is the usual entrance road to Barton), and continue a short ways 
beyond the well-signed Merrill Gardens.  The road turns to the right, and you 
will see a large sign for Evergreen Gardnerville.  

After a few days, Dick will probably settle into a sleep pattern that will 
determine the best time to visit him.
