[CVRC] Flood Watch for Carson City, NV

325 PM PDT Sat Aug 6 2005

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued an urban and small
stream flood advisory effective until 430 PM PDT Saturday afternoon
for people in the following County

In western Nevada
      extreme south central Washoe

At 325 PM PDT weather service Doppler radar indicated very heavy
rain over Geiger grade slowly moving west.  Rainfall amounts from
this storm may exceed one half inch in the next hour.  Residents in
the Steamboat and the Pleasant Valley area are urged to stay alert
for very heavy rain.  Water May Pond in urban areas...especially
along Highways 395 and 341.  Small hail and wind gusts to 40 mph
will also occur with this storm.

The heavy rains may trigger rock and mudslides in steep terrain
along Geiger grade.
