I would like to say a sincere “THANK YOU” for the several responses to my
query regarding a helping hand for some
antenna help for K7AZ in Reno. I have many fine memories of the people and
ham friends I had when I was living there many years ago.
But I am without the proper words to describe my surprise and sincere thanks
at the response for a helping hand from the many replies I have had in less
than 12 hours.
This is, to me, the true meaning of what this hobby is all about; it is not
about the QSLs and the DX and the awards (and I have been known to
go a long way to put a rare one on the air or chase one in the piles). If it
were not for the friendships made along the way, it would not likely be
worth the time and the money and the passion we put into it.
Thanks to all involved for posting the request, and the responses. Rex is a
gentleman and OT in the best sense, and will no doubt be happy to have the
help and meet some of the great people who have offered that great, traditional
Amateur Helping Hand.
But I wish to send my most sincere thanks for the more than generous response
s, and I can only say I am sorry I am not nearer to you so that I would be
able to thank you in person, and have the pleasure of meeting you.
I will try to get the details from Rex’ nephew K6LG, Clare, and reply in
kind to those who may be in the easiest position to help.
So thanks to each and every one of you for your kindness, and I express my
sincere ‘73’.
