Thunderstorm Warning
721 PM PDT Wed Jul 21 2004

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
   southern Washoe County in western Nevada
   this includes Pyramid Lake

* until 815 PM PDT

* at 716 PM PDT...National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
   severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail. This
   storm was located 10 miles south of Sutcliffe...or about 18 miles
   south of Pyramid Lake. This storm was nearly stationary.

* Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Stead
   and Nixon.

This is a dangerous storm. If you are in its path...prepare
immediately for damaging winds...destructive hail...and deadly cloud
to ground lightning. People outside should move to a shelter...
preferably inside a strong building but away from windows.

If on or near Pyramid Lake move to Safe Harbor. Get out of the water
and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember...lightning can
strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear
thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to
safe shelter now. Don't be caught on the water in a thunderstorm!
