High Wind Advisory
318 am PDT Wed Apr 21 2004

...Wind Advisory in effect until 4 PM PDT this afternoon...

A low pressure system over southern Nevada coupled with a powerful
jet stream will result in strong west winds today. Expect frequent
wind gusts to 50 mph over northwest Nevada...northeast California and
the Lake Tahoe basin. Local gusts up to 65 mph are possible in wind
prone areas during the early afternoon. Areas near the Carson and
Humboldt sinks...including Fallon and Lovelock...will see blowing
dust with visibilities reduced to less than one mile at times. The
strong winds will continue into the late afternoon before becoming
northwest and diminishing this evening.

Be sure to secure loose items and any outdoor furniture. Motorists
should also be prepared for strong cross winds...especially on U.S.
Highway 395 and Interstate 80.

Expires:212300 gmt
