[CVRC] SPOTTER ACTIVATION THIS AFTERNOON

TO: ALL WEATHER SPOTTERS IN THE RENO CWFA

The National Weather Service in Reno has requested spotter activation
this afternoon through evening regarding thunderstorm activity expected
in the CWFA. Amateur radio station WX7RNO will be activated at 1500
hours local time today. Weather spotters are requested to report
observations of severe weather in accordance with standard reporting
criteria. Reports may be made by telephone using the spotter information
numbers or via amateur radio utilizing the following primary
frequencies:

         * 146.610 - / P.L. 123.0 (primary for Northwestern Nevada
           areas)
         * 146.655 - / P.L. 131.8 (Mono County, CA areas)

The following frequencies will also be monitored for any reports of
severe weather via amateur radio in the respective areas listed:

         * 145.450 - / P.L. 123.0 (Lovelock/Carson Sink areas)
         * 147.210 + /P.L. 123.0 (Tahoe/Sierra)
         * 146.550 (Stations able to contact the National Weather
           Service directly)

Spotter activation is expected to continue through approximately 1900
hours this evening. Monitor NOAA weather radio for most current updates.
