Approximately 2 weeks ago Paul, WA6EWV, sysop for the Tahoe Amateur Radio
Association's BBS in South Lake Tahoe, CA activated a port on 145.050. This
opened up access to the BBS for those of us in Western Nevada through our
.05 nodes. The BBS also has a very nice 40m HF gateway.

Since activation of the .05 port myself, Glenn, KB7REO (So. Nv. DEC), and
Bruce - AL7LS (sysop of a VHF/HF gateway in Las Vegas) have used the HF
gateway daily to exchange messages and chat. This Monday evening I
connected to Glenn and was chatting keyboard-keyboard with him through the
gateway. Incidentally, this took place at the same time their 2-meter
ARES/RACES net for Clark County was in progress, so Glenn checked me in via
relay.
