Didn't realize VQP was on till wilst operateing in Russian DX Contest, I hrd 
sum1 mention VQP !!!
After RUDX was over at 8am Sun, I said (to myself) "shoot dem chores can 
wait" & jumped n 2 d VQP.
I spotted my butt off, spotting stations trying to drum up some action. 
Didn't see much spotting going on !!
The way I read de rules, there's no reason not to use spots, see below... Ed

Satellite contacts allowed.
No cross-mode or repeater QSO's.
Spotting nets, DX clusters, etc., may be used to locate other stations
no self-spotting permitted.
