There's a pretty good opening to EU going on right now.  I worked F8RZ at 1311z and EA2LU at 1328z.  There are lots of other stations I can't hear! I almost heard G4RRA but he was just a whisper.  

I was having a problem with RF getting into my cable modem shutting down my internet and phone service.  I did not have that problem until a few weeks ago and thought that was strange because I had not changed anything.  Then I remembered I did reroute the ladder line feeders through the window and perhaps I had switched the connections of the two leads on the back of my balanced tuner so I switched them back and the RFI went away.  While I thought this could not have caused a problem since the antenna is supposed to be BALANCED.  Running some tests I found it is not completely balanced because switching the leads causes a difference (although very slight) in tuning the antenna on the various bands.  I learn something new every day.  With my limited knowledge this is not hard to do!
