expenditure for VA QSO Party Plaque sponsorship. Dues are due! Please see
Bob to contribute.
New Business: WK4Y mentioned this year's Frostfest will be Feb. 18.
Tickets available on line or at the door. NK4H mentioned that one of CVCC's
founding members, NK4J is doing well and recuperating at home from recent
heart bypass surgery.
A discussion ensued about the possibility of getting a special call to
celebrate the 400 year founding of Jamestown. This could be done as a tie in
with the VA QSO Party. W4PM agreed to investigate and report back to the
Club.
W4MYA began lengthy discussion of the initial recommendations of the newly
formed Contest Committee. The committee consists of W4MYA, W1ZA, N4DEN,
W4HZ. The Contest committee would like the Club to focus on three operating
events to create camaraderie, increase contest participation and point
generation. The first event discussed was ARRL Field Day. W4HZ has
volunteered his home operating location as a place for us to set up Field
Day. Anyone interested in heading up the Field Day effort please contact
one of the Contest Committee members ASAP. In addition to FD the Club
would also participate in the VA QSO Party. The possibility of forming
teams to operate at several area stations for VAQP was discussed. A list of
possible stations to operate at was discussed. The last of the three events
is ARRL Sweepstakes. This event would have CVCC points going to the PVRC
effort. Discussed possibility of calling former, inactive, Club members to
ask them to come operate.
Meeting adjourned 8:25PM
Respectfully submitted,
Ed NW4V
