For what it's worth, while I was never a member of SARA, I was a member of the Greenwich ARC (mainly a CD oriented group, although we did do Field Day), while growing up. The club treasurer was Alan MacCracken, W1EE. Alan gave me my novice and tech exams in the late 50s, and also was the family lawyer. It was nice to hear his call on the SARA repeater after he became an SK.

Subject: [CTSARA] History of SARA
Good Morning to All,
I was looking to see if there was any written history of SARA and unfortunately found none so far. Does anyone have this?
I lived in Springdale and remember working with Joe Leferson on the WR1ABR repeater. I believe that SARA was formed so that the repeater could be built. I remember that there were several of us in the original group, but only remember Joe's name at this time. I'd be curious to fill in the blanks in my memories. I left Stamford in 1973, just when the repeater was going on the air.
73, Joe, K1ike
