Good Morning fellow GNARC Members,

Just a couple of things:

1. The Comm Center will be open *TONIGHT (Wed 1/25) at 1800*. *We will
also be open Saturday 1/28 from 0900-1200.*

2. GNARC will hold its first VE session on Saturday February 11 from
0900-1230. Contact a club officer or Lisa KC1YL ( KC1YL at Yahoo.com ) if you
plan on attending, *but walk-ins are also welcome !*

3. Winter Field Day is January 28 - 29th. The club station and facilities
will be available Saturday from 1400-2130 and Sunday 0800-1400. We cannot
stay overnight for this contest and there must be a certified club station
operator at the Comm Center. There was interest at the last meeting so if
you plan on coming either or both days please EMAIL me at Tom at K1TA.com and
Paul Paul at Lourd.com so that we can have an idea of who is coming.

4. February Meeting will be held on Wednesday 2/8. We will have a 30-45
minute presentation by Steve W1SMS on *Lightening Strikes. *In addition I
will be putting together committees for the 2017 year. The biggest
committee that I am trying to put together is the FIELD DAY committee.
Anyone interested in Chairing or being on that committee please EMAIL me at
Tom at K1TA.com and Paul Paul at Lourd.com

5. Paul WB2JVB, Dee N1ZD and Lisa KC1YL cleaned up the Radio Room. It
looks FANTASTIC now. Please leave it the way you found it (or cleaner).
In addition, if members want to donate items to members or to the club,
please talk to a club officer to make sure we can take it and have room for
it. The kitchen and Meeting area is shared space and is not ours to leave
things in. Which brings up #6.

6. If the Comm Center or Meeting area is being used, please clean the area
up and remove the trash before locking up and leaving. As we all now know,
we are guests in the building and we are being watched.

7. I have been told that the 440 DMR repeater is back in service.
Apparently the Power Supply for the amp went south and had to be replaced.
Thank you Charles and Mike for handling that.

8. The club has purchased a new TS-590SG at the recommendation of the
Technical Committee. The new rig is located on the VHF/UHF side of the
club station (the North wall) and is antenna position #6. This location
was chosen to give the operators separation and so that the 6 meter antenna
can be used on the 590. Please see a club operator for instructions on how
to use this new rig if you have any questions.

9. The HF Beam is still out of service. The Tech Committee will be giving a
report and recommendation at the February meeting on replacing the tri-band
beam.

I am sure there are more items but I can't think of them at the moment.

Yours truly,

Tom K1TA
GNARC President 2017
