If you are a ham radio experimenter/tinkerer/ and like to design your own equipment, one of the best books I have ever come across is Experimental Methods in RF Design. It is a large, meaty book with a lot of technical depth and a ton of circuits and techniques. The ARRL is no longer publishing it. It is still available at Ham Radio Outlet for $49.95.  When they are gone, they are gone.  My copy is dog-eared from heavy use and I’m constantly referring to it.
