-detector-locations.html
This video gives some general tips for where in your home carbon monoxide
detectors should be placed.

You want to install them on a wall or ceiling, at least 4-5" but ideally
about a foot or so away from any joints (like where the wall meets the
ceiling). Angled joints create pockets of still air, which isn't where you
want your detector.

Different detectors operate differently, so the instructions that come with
your detector are the best place to figure out where exactly it should go.
Some plug-in ones are designed to go near the floor, some hardwired ones go
at chest level, and some 'smoke detector' type ones go on the wall or
ceiling up high.

If your CO detector is also a smoke detector, it should be placed high on
the wall or ideally on the ceiling, to allow the smoke detection function to
work properly.

Hope that helps!

Chris KB1QXR

Subject: [CTSARA] Carbon Mono Detector ???

Hi, All,
Does anybody know where on the wall or ceiling a carbon monoxide alarm
should be installed? A smoke detector is one thing, but I think CO by itself
dissipates differently, not neccessarily rising to the top of a space. Can
anybody advise me? TNX Bill WG1HM
